The Masters features a total of 15 men’s teams and 15 woman’s teams. Both men’s and woman’s divisions include the top 14 teams based on the World Curling Tour’s Order of Merit total ranking system plus 1 sponsor’s exemption. Both men’s and woman’s divisions are split into three pools of five teams for round robin play.
At the conclusion of the round robin, the top eight teams qualify for the playoffs to determine each champion. Tiebreaker matches may be played in the event teams are tied for the final playoff positions.
All events in the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling series are played utilizing the five-rock rule.
The winners of the Masters receive invitations to the Championship Cup, which is the final event of the season and showcases all of the winners from the major events in curling.
The Masters will take place at the Lloydminster Centennial Civic Centre from October 24-29, 2017
