COVID-19: Saskatchewan government implements temporary mandatory masking in indoor public places
Lloydminster, AB/SK – Interim mandatory masking while in public places takes effect Friday, September 17, 2021, following an announcement by the Government of Saskatchewan.
The province also announced that proof of vaccination or negative test results would be required to enter several establishments, businesses and event venues come Friday, October 1, 2021.
Residents and business owners are reminded all public health measures mandated by the Government of Saskatchewan and the Saskatchewan Health Authority apply to the City of Lloydminster in its entirety as the City is compelled to abide by orders issued under the Saskatchewan Health Act.
Friday, September 17 – Interim Provincial Mandatory Masking
The use of non-medical masks in all indoor public spaces is required beginning Friday, September 17, 2021, until late October after the Government of Saskatchewan’s proof of vaccination or a negative test results program has been implemented for approximately three weeks.
Exempt from the masking order:
- Indoor youth athletics for those 18 and under while actively engaged in athletic activity
Masking in venues hosting youth athletics is required for general entry and exit into the facility for athletes and spectators.
