Food, beverage provider steps aside to focus on enhancing golf services

Lloydminster, AB/SK – The Lloydminster Golf & Curling Centre (LGCC) wishes to inform its members and the community about an upcoming change to food and beverage services. Effective October 15, 2023, Wheaton Golf Services will be stepping away from the role of food and beverage provider at LGCC.
While Wheaton Golf Services will no longer be overseeing the facility’s food and beverage operations, they will remain the course’s golf contractor for the Pro Shop.
“Wheaton Golf Services has been an integral part of the golf and hospitality experience at the Lloydminster Golf and Curling Centre. On behalf of the greater golf community, I want to thank the team for their service and for stepping into the role,” says Joël Turcotte, Director, Recreation and Culture Services, City of Lloydminster.
The Lloydminster Golf & Curling Centre is committed to providing golf and curling services and amenities to its members and visitors. As part of this commitment, the City will be conducting a thorough review of the facility’s operations.
“We’re dedicated to enhancing the Lloydminster Golf and Curling Centre experience. To achieve this, we’re looking to engage with stakeholders, golfers and the greater community in the near future to better understand how our services can meet their needs and expectations,” says Turcotte. “We ask that patrons stay tuned for updates as their feedback is a valuable part of the process.”
The facility’s management staff has worked closely with Wheaton Golf Services to ensure that all affected individuals are informed of the changes and the transition date of October 15, 2023.
“On behalf of the Wheaton Golf Services team, I want to express my deep appreciation to the community and all our patrons for their unwavering support over the past two years. It has been an honour to serve you through our food and beverage services at the Lloydminster Golf and Curling Centre,” says Marty Wheaton, owner, Wheaton Golf Services. “We’ll continue to contribute to the Golf and Curling Centre’s success by focusing on our core strength—enhancing golf services. We believe that this shift will better serve the needs of the facility and elevate the overall experience for all golf enthusiasts.”
The Lloydminster Golf & Curling Centre is looking forward to the opportunity to enhance offerings and services and looks forward to welcoming a new food and beverage provider.
